This 60.4g Aletai iron meteorite cube comes from the Aletai strewn field in Xinjiang, China, an important iron meteorite locality first documented in 1898. Its iron-nickel composition originated within the metallic core of an ancient asteroid.
The etched cube reveals the Widmanstätten pattern, formed through extremely slow cooling over geological timescales. Its size makes it accessible while still offering the visual and scientific qualities collectors look for in Aletai iron meteorite material.
