This official Apollo 17 Pin is 1 inch in diameter and was manufactured by AB Emblem. Apollo 17 was the 11th manned launch of the program, and the sixth and final manned lunar landing. The crew consisted of Commander Gene Cernan, Lunar Module Pilot Jack Schmitt and Command Module Pilot Stu Roosa. The Apollo 17 landing site was chosen as it was deemed the best location to fulfil the mission's primary objectives, these included sampling lunar highland material older than the impact that formed Mare Imbrium.
